Vivo Y15A and Vivo Y15s smartphones launched with MediaTek Helio P35 – Times of India

Google currently displays the unread chats in Google Messages in bold text. This is set to change soon. The tech giant is reportedly working on a new method to highlight unread messages. As per a report by Android Central, Google Messages is testing to add a blue dot to the right of an unread message’s timestamp. The latest change was discovered by a leakster in Google Message app’s latest beta version v10.6.240.
The new feature will be similar to the notification badges for apps that allow Android users to easily see which apps have new notifications that are yet to be read. These badges are also available on Apple iPhones. iOS, on the other hand, shows the unread counts as well. Notification badges feature is already available on messaging apps like WhatsApp along with Gmail and Apple mail.
According to the report, the change is part of the server-side update and is currently available for a limited number of users only. The new method will make unread messages more noticeable. Though the existing feature to bold the unread text is not bad either, it is possible for some users to miss unread messages. The new feature will be a welcome addition to Google Messages.
