In 2020, during the launch of the Galaxy Note 20 series, Samsung let the world know that it was getting its house in order as far as software updates on its devices were concerned. The company was breaking up with its dark past and terrible reputation of being slow with software updates and not just that, but also only focusing on a handful of its ultra-premium devices and forgetting the many other devices it churns out from its production facilities daily.
Last week, at its 2022 Unpacked event, the company reiterated this commitment by announcing an even more exciting and ambitious software upgrade program for its devices: 4 years of guaranteed upgrades to newer versions of Android (One UI for the smartphones and tablets and One UI Watch and Wear OS for the smartwatches, fitness bands and other compatible wearables) and 5 years of getting the latest security patches. That is much more than anyone in the industry, Google included, currently offers.
Exciting as this news is, is your device part of those earmarked to start enjoying the latest developments immediately?
